We had a very productive session at Thomas Hardye school where young and old volunteers joined together to practice their interview techniques. It was really good to get them going using the digital equipment and actually doing some interviewing. And proved to be a very positive sharing experience for all.
The session was split 50/50 to enable the older volunteers to use the equipment and ask the questions, and than switching around so that the younger volunteers got a chance to quiz us. One older volunteer was interested to hear from a younger person that they had great difficulty with the technology being used.
A very positive experience for all and sets us up well for the volunteers to start going out into the community to record our oral histories.
